I was born in the summer of 1962 in a suburb of London England; my father was a career soldier in the United States Army and my mother was a citizen of the United Kingdom. By the time my father retired from the Army in 1978 I had lived in or visited 3 continents (Europe, Asia and North America) 17 countries, and 24 states.

In 1978 my life as an Arizonan began. My family moved to Tucson and my mother started a Real Estate career as a Sales Agent and also an Investor. Until I was 18 I spent many weekends and a couple of summers painting, landscaping and performing other minor chores to help prepare my parents investment properties to be rented.

After I graduated from high school I took several extended road trips. On one particular trip to the San Francisco Bay Area, I decided not to go home but instead, joined the United States Marine Corps. The Marine Corps was life shaping event for me. I was part of an elite amphibious assault force and spent the next three years storming beaches across the Pacific and at Camp Pendleton CA. Not only did The United States Marine Corps make me a man but it also taught me discipline, loyalty, self confidence, honor and pride which will be a part of me for the rest of my life.

I returned to Tucson after being honorable discharged from the United States Marine Corps. By this time my parents owned 25 properties. I rejoined my mother’s business as the property manager. It was my job to collect the rents, perform minor maintenance, and prepare the homes for the rental market. After receiving my Real Estate Sales License in March of 1986, I continued to assist my mother with the homes that she was buying as investments and also began assisting her clients in the sales process.

Unfortunately the next ten years of my life were compete chaos and misery. Many things went wrong including family deaths, the Gulf War Part 1, a failed marriage, and a cancer diagnoses. During this same period and amazingly enough, I managed to get a degree from Pima Community College and the University of Arizona. I majored in Political Science and minored in Art History. Luckily, I survived the cancer scare and moved on to the current phase of my life.

In 1995 I relocated to the Phoenix area and worked for a company that was expanding their markets. During my climb up the corporate ladder, I was selected to open three new locations in the Las Vegas area. When I relocated to the Las Vegas area, I needed a place to live so I answered a newspaper ad for a roommate. It turned out that my future wife put the ad in the paper. She lived in a six bedroom house and needed a roommate to help pay the rent. After all the new locations for my company were successfully opened, fully staffed and operating, I was relocated back to the Phoenix area.

We bought a house and shortly thereafter, I got the real estate bug again. My wife was tired of hearing me whine about getting back into real estate so as a Christmas present, she paid for my tuition. After, completing school and obtaining my real estate license, I began the search for my new job in my new career. During that search, I was fortunate enough to interview with a property locating company. The Office Manager, Kevin had years of experience and under his tutelage I became the successful agent I am today. I worked for Kevin for four years before I decided to try my hand at sales.

I joined Windermere West Valley and began my career in real estate sales. Shortly after joining Windermere, I was asked to join an agent counsel which met with the owner of Windermere West Valley to brainstorm new ideas and discuss how to improve sales. It was decided that Windermere would start a property management department. Because of my experience in the field, I was selected and asked to build the property management department for Windermere. During the next couple of years Windermere experienced the growing pains of starting a new department from scratch. During that time the sales market began to collapse and sales to investors had weakened. Windermere decided to sell the property management portfolio.

I was devastated at the prospect of the sale. I had poured my heart, blood, sweat and tears into building a successful property management portfolio. I had learned from the best and always wanted to continue what and where my mother had been forced to stop, and, as they say, “necessity is the mother of all invention”. So, with my wife by my side and my mother’s spiritual guidance, I obtained my Broker’s license and purchased the Windermere portfolio creating Arizona Rentals and Concierge Services, LLC.
